In late 2016, La Torretta was excited to announce many changes for the upcoming year. One of those changes was welcoming our new Director of Catering, Melanie Campbell and Catering Sales Manager, Mariyah Hawkins. These two are our Weddings at the Lake gurus. Get to know a little about them and don't hesitate to reach out for help in planning your Wedding at the Lake.
Melanie Campbell, Director of Catering
Melanie has been in the industry for over 20 years, starting her hospitality career at the front desk before becoming a Social Catering Manager. After spending 4 years of selling weddings, parties, social events, Melanie became the Director of Catering at the Crowne Plaza Medical Center in Houston. She has worked at the Warwick, Hotel ZaZa in Dallas and Marriott. As Director of Catering at La Torretta she specializes in Multicultural Weddings. After partnering up with Daawat Catering (Madres Pavilion and Mandap Creations) she has created very unique South Asian Wedding Packages that are all inclusive of outside caterer and upgraded décor. She is very familiar with the aspects of South Asian Weddings and Nigerian Weddings.

Melanie feels very fortunate to be working at La Torretta Lake Resort. "This is truly the best place to host a wedding on the Lake. It is amazing you can have a destination wedding only an hour away from the hustle bustle of the city. It is a place you can check in on Friday, have a rehearsal dinner or Sangeet. Utilize the Spa for your hair, make-up and pre-ceremony pampering while the guys play a round of golf on our championship 18-hole course. Have your ceremony outside on beautiful Lake Conroe and Reception and Dinner in one of our five gorgeous ballrooms. Your weddings guests get to enjoy the beauty of the resort with our 3-acre Aqua Park and so much more."

Mariyah Hawkins, Catering Sales Manager
Mariyah Hawkins is the Social Sales Manager with La Torretta Lake Resort. Her specialties are, Traditional Weddings, Rehearsal Dinners, Birthday Parties and so much more. Mariyah is a Sam Houston State University Alum, and this is where she first got her start in the Event Planning Industry. Leading up to Graduation Mariyah interned with En Vogue Events out of Houston Texas where she served as a day of coordinator for events alongside their Senior Planners. After Graduation she found her event home with La Torretta and has been providing hospitable service there for 4 years and counting. Mariyah knows the business and has an awesome staff that takes pride in servicing skillfully organized events!

Planning and selling at La Torretta Lake Resort for so many years has given Mariyah the opportunity to make weddings here at the lake really shine for both the couple and their guests. There are places like Energie Bar here at the resort that is a major hotspot for wedding after parties during peak season. “My Weddings love to continue to party hours into the night after the Wedding Reception.” says Hawkins. Also there is a Spa that is perfect for relaxation as well as gorgeous backdrops for bridal portraits. Her favorite touch of class that La Torretta offers is the Complimentary Hotel Suite that each La Torretta Wedding couple receives just for having their wedding with the resort. “Waking up to your new spouse in a gorgeous suite is a must after a day full of sparks, and fireworks” Mariyah says.
