MONTGOMERY, TX – September 14, 2009 – La Torretta Del Lago Resort & Spa® was a big winner at Texas Meetings + Events magazine’s annual “Best Of” awards celebration on September 3rd. The destination property, which is located an hour north of downtown Houston on scenic Lake Conroe, was named was named the “Best New Venue” and “Best Hotel with Meeting Space” in the Eastern Region for 2009. The awards honor the dedication and creativity of local event professionals who have earned the respect and admiration of their clients and peers. This is the second major regional award for the property, which formally debuted in March 2009, and follows the May 2009 presentation of a prestigious Landmark Award in the hospitality category by the Houston Business Journal.
The former Del Lago Resort, which now features 445 luxurious accommodations and a dedicated 70,000-square foot conference and events center, launched following a massive two-year, $130-million renovation and expansion. The event took place at Lakeway Resort and Spa in Austin, TX with more than 200 meetings and events service professionals in attendance.
